Damon's Lexus

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of Damon's Lexus but I got this one off the Internet.  It is very similar.

Damon is a friend of Mummy's.  He owns a Lexus and we went to the park in it.  I sat in the front.  The front has lots of cool things.  It even has a sat nav and it has a sports button.
A sports button basically beefs up the suspension.  His car is a petrol/hybrid V8.  There is an Eco button which uses the hybrid mode.  The front has individual air conditioning, so I get my own.  I kept it on 23 degrees most of the time.
The back has blinds on the windows.  The arm rest that flips down has lots of cool things like air conditioning temperature control, heated seat buttons, cup holders and radio controls.  Margot rode in the back for the first trip (when I was riding in the front).  On the way back to Damon's house, Margot sat in the front for part of the time.  We went to drop off Damon's daughter's friend back to her own house and Margot wanted to sit in the back because there were blinds.
I ended up sitting up in the front for the rest of the trip home.
I liked it, although the trip was only two or three minutes long.

Damon's Lexus is very good.  I like to ride in Damon's Lexus.

The Airport Viewing Platform

Yesterday I went to the airport viewing platform. We saw a huge Qantas aircraft.  We also saw Uncle Matt's Virgin Australia plane parked at the terminal (he and Charlie were coming home from Melbourne), and we saw a cargo plane landing on one of the runways.
There was a big board of aircrafts at the airport viewing platform.  Margot was not behaving so we had to go home.

This is from the sign I'm looking at in the top picture.  It is a diagram of the Boeing 777

Aunty Marcia's class

Yesterday I went to Aunty Marcia's class. They were doing a colourful wool craft. It was called Eye of God. We used different colours of wool and knitted them together. One of Aunty Marcia's students and I had a very heated conversation about what is craft and what is art. After the art, I went to the front of the class and people asked me questions about my Canadian school. After that, we played some yellow instruments behind the school. It was really loud. One of the instruments was stuffed with leaves.

Our New House (borrowed)

Some really nice people loaned us their house to stay in for a week.  When we moved in it was different than I thought it would be.  The living room has a huge TV and some blue, comfy chairs.

In the living room there is also a game of Monopoly.  I like to play Monopoly.  The Monopoly game is called "Perth Edition" because it has lots of buildings and places from Perth like Rottnest Island, Perth Airport and the WACCA.

The kitchen is inside the dining room.  There are some stairs that lead to the living room/kitchen and the kitchen has a huge cupboard.  There are things like tea bags and Vegemite in the cupboard.

In the bedrooms (not mummy and daddy's) the bedside tables looked unusual.  It was because they were made out of old Apple super computers.  It was really cool because on the side of them there was glass so you could see all of the mechanical things.  There were even old computer chips stuck to the top of the unusual bedside table.

In the study there also was an old Apple computer that they store worksheets in.  It was really cool but when you press the on button, since it didn't have a screen or electronics inside it, instead the on/off button just disappeared.  Eventually I found it inside the computer.  The dad that live here makes things like the bedside tables and the computer cubby out of old Apple computers.

There is a work site next to our house.  They are making a house.  The workers put up large pieces of wood between the parts of the house that didn't have a fence so no one could get in.  The workers are very friendly.

There is a chicken pen with two chickens inside the back yard.  Margot went inside the chicken pen to feed them.  She said one of the chickens bites a lot.  The chickens laid an egg this morning.

There are lots of wind chimes in the back yard and on the porch.  The one on the porch had a handle that was really short so no one could reach it.  Only the wind could blow it.

There are lots of ceiling fans too.

This house is really nice and it will be very cool to stay in.

Rotto Part 2

I had my own bedroom on Rottnest. I didn't like sleeping in Rotto. On the next day,we went to The Basin. When we got there, I made sand castles near the tide, and watched them getting destroyed. At home, we played until dinner. I had a hotdog. We went out to a store to get popsicles.  Also we went to the movie "Paper planes". "Paper planes" was played in an old church. Later we went to a restaurant with seagulls that knocked over glass cups. It was not good that the seagulls did that. We also went to a water park that had a slide. I liked the slide. Rotto is awesome!

Rotto Part 1

We went to Rottnest (Rotto) on a big, wobbly ferry.
It took 20 minutes to get to Rotto.  It used to take an hour when Mummy was a girl.
The brand that sailed us there was Rottnest Express
This is only the front of the ferry.

The ferry was red and white with three levels.  The bottom level had toilets and the seats were like booths.  The middle level had blue seats and tables on the window sides.  I don't know what the upper level looked like.  We were on the middle level. I had to go downstairs to use the bathroom and last time we went on the ferry we were on the bottom level.  We have never travelled on the top level.

When we arrived at Rotto I suggested "We could go and get our hire bikes."  Mummy said "Not until we get to our house."  When we got there we dropped all our luggage off and went to the bike hire place.  It took a long time to hire helmets because the only ones that were really in my size were some weird looking, bug eyed kiddy helmets.  At the end I had to have an adult helmet.  We got our bikes waited in the queue for paying.  Margot's bike was called "Holly 12".  On this trip I also saw another bike that was called "Holly 16".

When we got out of the bike hire place, Charlie was riding his green bike around in circles. It said Malvern Star in fancy letters.

We rode our bikes down to the Pinky Beach.  When we got there the water was really cold.

Mummy tricked me and dunked me in.  After Mummy dunked me it didn't feel as cold.

Once we got back from the beach, Gracie and Charlie were standing over at the end of the pavement. I rode my bike to see what they were looking at.  It was a sleeping quokka!  Quokkas are extremely cute.  They walk in a very funny way.  They sometimes hold onto branches and pull themselves up so it looks like they are standing up.

In my next blog there will be more Rottnest adventures and talk about Quokkas, water parks and more.

Rottnest

Rottnest is an island in Australia, close to Perth.
Rottnest Island

I am going to Rottnest in two days.  I am going with my parents, my sister and some of my cousins. I will travel there on a big Rottnest ferry.  The last time we went to Rottnest, our ferry was red and white.
Rottnest Ferry

I will go to the lovely beaches where the water is very light.

One of the many lovely beaches on Rottnest
Lots of people from Perth have yachts so they can sail over to Rottnest and instead of renting a house they will sleep on their boats.

Yachts on Rottnest (with Perth in the background, you can barely see it)
You are not allowed to drive a car on Rottnest because people want to relax there, not listen to noisy cars.
Only the island workers use a car.

Those are a lot of bikes on the bike rack
Quokkas are brown furry animals.  They only live on Rottnest.  On my last Rottnest trip I met a Quokka.  They are a bit like kangaroos except they don't jump.  They are very friendly and quiet.
Isn't this quokka cute?

All of these pictures are from the Internet.  I will do another blog about Rottnest and it will feature even more quokkas, bikes and beaches.

Stay tuned!
